Happy 3 Years to Brendan May!
Today marks the 3 year anniversary of Brendan May’s transplant. Brendan had a bone marrow transplant on February 28, 2007 at the age of 17. He is currently recovering from that and continues to do well. Brendan was originally diagnosed in October of 2001 (age 12) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He endured 3 1/2 years of chemo and went off treatment in January, 2005. In August, 2006, Brendan relapsed. He again endured six months of chemo before undergoing a bone marrow transplant, which was his only hope for recovery. The donor was unrelated which put him at higher risk. The transplant was on February 28, 2007.
